Mad Men (Netflix)
An American period drama, based in the 1960s, the show focuses on the cut-throat age of television advertising following the professional and personal life of Don Draper, an up-and-coming star in the business. Set at the fictional Sterling Cooper advertising agency on Madison Avenue in New York City, special attention to historical context and content make this a standout creation. The highly acclaimed series received numerous awards including 16 Emmys and five Golden Globes. Take a step back in time and experience marketing at its button-down height.
The Handmaid’s Tale (Hulu)
Creepy and fascinating all at once, The Handmaid’s Tale, based on the novel by Margaret Atwood, is set in Gilead, a dystopian society rising from the ashes of what used to be a part of the United States. In this new country, ruled by a set of fundamental extremists, women are considered property to be used as the new society leaders dictate — including being pawns to repopulate a devastated world. Fertile women are highly prized possessions whether they like or not. Follow Offred, a handmaid in this series, now in its second season. (Mature Audience Advisory).
Grey’s Anatomy (Hulu)
Fourteen seasons and running, Grey’s Anatomy is a drama set around the lives of the people who save lives: doctors. Experience the ups and the downs of the healthcare professionals at Seattle Grace Hospital. Get immersed in medical jargon, relationships between doctors and interns and more when you watch this emotional rollercoaster of a TV series.
A seemingly calm and friendly seaside town becomes a town wrapped in secrets when the death of an eleven year old boy sparks an unwanted media frenzy. As the town's locals start to open up about what they do and don't know, it falls upon the police to catch the supposed killer.
